Does being healthy really matter?
This is not a post about telling you to exercise and become vegetarian or you will be doomed to an early death, and this article is definitely not about making you feel bad for your unhealthy habits, but rather, I want to share with you something fundamental that I have come across, that might help you live a better, successful life. Here’s a very simple yet powerful analogy of what goes on in your body.
Why be healthy?
Imagine that your body consists of a population of tiny living beings, societies that work, produce, consume and live. Imagine that these little people that are living in your body, their environment, resources, production, all depend on how much YOU give them. Imagine you being the God of your body, or a governor.
Now, when you eat healthy, exercise and take care of your body, these little people have the resources they need, their weather is good, they have money, they are happy, they work, produce, live happily ever after, and are super productive pumping positivity in your brain and giving you the strength to go after your goals and stay focused.
When you are not healthy on the other hand, your little people are angry at you, because you are feeding them with bad resources, they need to work extra to get rid of the shit that you feed them, their weather becomes bad with storms and tornadoes, they are not happy, not productive, some of them are homeless, some of them get too pissed off at you that they start protesting against you and giving you cancer.
Your body is exactly similar to this analogy, you have little people in you that are depending on the things that you provide them.
If you want to be successful, productive, focused, emotionally stable, you have better chances if the little people inside of your body are happy, if you piss them off they will return the favour to you.
Law of Success # 1 Whatever you want to become/achieve, do it step by step. Patience.
Build your dream brick by brick.
You might not see any immediate results, that’s natural, if you want to build a house, you will not see in front of your eyes a house just after laying the first brick. You have to be patient, persistent, keep your goal in mind and never lift your eyes off of it. The Quran says that humans were created weak (Surat An-Nisā’, 28) and impatient (Surat Al-‘Isra‘, 11) It is human’s nature to be in a hurry and expect immediate results. Therefore be positive, approach your goal little by little.
Once The Emam Ali pbuh, was on his way to the mosque on top of his horse. When he reached the mosque he told a man standing outside the mosque to watch over his horse while the Emam goes inside to pray. The man got greedy and stole the Emam’s saddle from the horse’s back and hurried to the marketplace to sell it.
While the Emam finished his prayer, he found that the man was gone and the saddle was missing, so he decided to go to the market to buy another saddle so that he can ride his horse.
Upon reaching the market, he was shocked to find his saddle displayed for sale. He asked the seller, how much will you sell this saddle? The seller replied, 10 Dirhams, the Emam asked him, how much did you buy it for? He replied, 5 Dirhams.
The Emam said; glory to God, I was planning to pay the thief 5 Dirhams for watching over my horse while I was praying, but he didn’t have any patience.
Success will come to you, leave it in the hands of god, So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. (The Bible, Luke, Chapter 11 Verse 9)
Have patience.
The main attributes of the successful.
I couldn’t help but notice that the majority of successful people are selfless.
They work for others, they praise others, they glorify others, but never themselves.
Also they have a unique quality of serving others, we have an Arabic saying that goes like this; “sayidul qowmi khadimahom”. It translates to, “The Master of the tribe is their servant”.
When your capacity to give increases, so does your capacity to get, if you want to become successful or powerful, all you have to do is to increase your capacity to give.
We were not brought to life for no reason, as Rumi says; whoever has brought me here shall take me back.
Our purpose is to serve.
Choose any successful man or woman in your mind and ask yourself this; did this person serve others in some way? You will discover that they have helped change the lives of many to the better.
Now you know why you are not successful?
Life is a moving train, instead of being idle, take up a cause, fight for someone, help others. There are almost 7 billion people on this planet, can’t you create something that helps at least 1 million? You know you can do it. Now move.
Why you should focus on honing your talents rather than studying something just for the sake of getting a job.
When you are talented at something, you do that specific thing excellently with minimal amount of effort, for e.g if you are good in mathematics, when you are compared to someone who is not, you will do better in an exam even if the non talented guy studies harder. ‘
Why focus on talent?
It is very hard to become successful at something if you have no likeness towards that field. It takes a lot of hard work. So why not save your life and your time, did you know that you become happy as well? Whats better? To see your work as fun or to see your work as work?
But talent does not put food on the table.
Who told you that? Are you that brainwashed?
It is your fault that you don’t know the means by which you can make money out of your talents, did you ever ask yourself or did you ever do a research on how you can monetize your talents?
Of course it takes time to hone your talents, you can’t become Picasso over night, but if you do work on your talents, it’s very fruitful later.
Imagine that you are walking down the street, and accidentally you hear a little girl telling her dad that he should read your book. That is what happened to Paulo Coelho when he was walking one day and he overheard a girl telling her dad that he should read The Alchemist. That is a great feeling. When Coelho was a kid, his parents wanted to make him do something other than writing, but he knew that he likes writing and he persisted in staying in that field.
Nowadays people are making money out of things that would sound silly 10 years ago for e.g, there are people who are making money by playing a game, record the game play, upload it to YouTube and then YouTube pays them.
Think wide my friend.
Success defined. What makes a man successful. How to know whether you are successful or not.
Success is this:
A man’s success can be measured proportionately to how happy he is in life.
Why is it important to become great/successful. Immortality explained. How to become immortal.
Some people wonder, why should I become great? Why should I be ambitious?
The answer:
If you die while no one knows who you are, or if you die with no accomplishments to your name, then no one will speak or think about you after your death. You will live in the minds of your children and sometimes in the minds of your grandchildren as well, but as soon as your grandchildren die there will not be any one who thinks or speaks about you anymore.
Immortality explained
You are energy. When you work hard and achieve greatness and recognition, the whole world will speak and think about you, therefore keeping you alive in themselves, you continue living through them.
You become immortal.
Do you think that Muhamed, Einstein, Jesus et al, are dead? …. Think again.
Why working is important? Why work?
No famous person receives his fame for just sitting his ass all day.
Every man on earth has gone through a significant amount of labor to achieve his dream.
The ego in the human makes him think that he is the best of god’s creation, as a matter of fact, he isn’t!
The bird sleeps as soon as the sun sets and wakes up before sunrise. Now that is a disciplined creature! That is a creature who appreciates his communion with god. That is a creature who is living life to the fullest. Notice how he sings 🙂
No matter how much wealth you possess, if being idle is the only activity you have, sooner or later your soul will fall apart, you might be depressed and be staring at the ceiling all day.
Work; makes you have a different view of reality.
Work; makes you realize that life is not as easy as you think, it provides you with the means to appreciate the blessings that god has bestowed upon you.
Work; improves your social skills, financial skills, enhances your behavior and maturity.
If you have a good source of inspiration, your work can unfold talents that you were never aware of. In a different sense, work helps you understand who you truly are.
When I say work, I do not necessarily mean that you do the type of work which requires muscle mass and hard labor, keep in mind that the majority of the most successful people are doing the kind of work which they enjoy doing. There is a reason why they are inspired and motivated to go deep into the rabbit hole to complete their work. The question is “why?” Why should I do that kind of work.
Know that god has given you a unique talent, and he needs you to use that talent for him and for his children (us). So do not think not for a second that your existence here on earth is meaningless, remember that if you can answer this question; “Why should I do that kind of work?” then your journey will begin.
The Wright brothers did not invent the airplane just so that they could make money and become rich and famous, they rather believed that their invention will change humanity for the better.
Edison (or Tesla) believed that the light bulb will change the lives of all humans, that is why they had the power to persist with their work and continue experimenting – no stopping – no matter what.
It is our time now to find what it is that we need to do that will make planet Earth a better place to live in.
In the movie I AM, the Dalai Lama was asked what is the best meditation a human can develop, he answered without a blink of an eye and he said; “Critical analysis followed by action” Understand what is happening around you in the world and figure out where your talents fit in.
Know that there are people out there who – with the help of your talents – can live a better life. There are people out there who need you.
How to change a habit quickly and easily. How to eliminate a habit.
Habit is what shapes our lives, a person is a millionaire or a homeless beggar, because of habit.
Habit is what differentiates successful people from unsuccessful people. Observe the people around you and you will discover the soundness of this fact.
Your environment feeds you with habits and it reinforces your habits. It is one of the reasons parents are so afraid to let their children befriend “bad kids”.
If you have a goal in life and you are aiming to achieve greatness, then you must accompany yourself with people who possess the habits of that person who you want to be.
It takes 21 to 40 days to change a habit (smoking for e.g) all you need is decision.
Ones you decide to get rid of a habit everything will come smoothly.
But if it was that simple everybody would be successful isn’t it? the secret lies in the differentiation between a wish and a decision.
If you are overweight you will look into the mirror, and whisper quietly in your own mind, “I need to lose that fat” but once you turn away from the mirror you whisper in your own mind again – more silently – sometimes without your awareness – and you say “well its fine anyway I’m still alive”. This occurs due to your lack of understanding between a decision and a wish.
Have you heard the song airplanes by B.O.B? If you focus with the song you will find a very noteworthy lesson.
“Can we pretend that airplanes in the night sky are like shooting stars”
You can sit in an open area and stare into the sky, and whenever you spot an airplane, think of the airplane as a shooting star and make a wish. There are many airplanes out there right? so whatever wish you have will come true! now we all know that’s not gonna happen. But if you DO take a decision and stand firmly by that decision, MIRACLES WILL HAPPEN, similar to a person who sees an airplane 200 years ago – will think that an airplane is a miracle, well guess what? it IS a miracle! even the light bulb is a miracle, these miracles could have never happened unless if it was backed with a firm decision and a burning desire to attain it. These inventors understood – one basic law which the majority of people neglect to understand, it is the ability to know oneself and to stop for a second and ask oneself, the thing that I want – is it merely a wish or a decision?
If you want to become wealthy, is it a wish or a decision? if you want to lose weight, is it a wish or a decision? if you want to become successful, is it a wish or a decision?
We wish for thousands of things everyday, we become overwhelmed with our wishes that we fail to differentiate between those that matter and those that don’t.
Once you have taken the decision, you have set the path, the objective will be achieved as long as you hold your decision firmly.
Some practical tips to get rid of a habit:
Sit in a quiet and relaxing position, imagine yourself vividly, that you are becoming what you want to become, and see yourself, visualize, and imagine doing the things that you want to do. Try to use all five senses while imagining.
The nervous system does not know the difference between fact or fiction, it’s all in your head. when you go to the movie theater and watch a horror scene, although you know what you are seeing is not real, you still panic. The movie directors are playing a trick on your nervous system and are making money out of it, similarly you can play a decent trick on your nervous system and make it believe what you want it to believe.
How?
By the use of imagination. Go to google, and do a little research on “imagination” and you will come to realize that the secret behind all the powerful and successful people in the world lies in their ability to utilize their imagination.
Imagination should also be a part of our lives – a habit.
We have forgotten that all the answers to our problems lie in our own heads, take smoking for instance, there is a product out there that helps you to quit smoking and you know whats the funny part? it’s a patch! a goddam** patch!! apparently its a sticky thing that can be applied on the skin and it sucks the nicotine out of your body! unbelievable! people actually fall for it! they are becoming lazier and lazier everyday, and the owners of these consumer products are aware of this fact, and the other thing that they are aware of, is that the problem lies in our heads, what this patch actually does it gives you a motive, something to make you trick your own nervous system into believing that this patch actually works, but in reality it is YOU WHO IS MAKING IT WORK.
Rich vs Poor. What is the difference? Which side are you on?
The rich man asks: “How can I get it?” The poor man affirms: “I can not get it”.
The rich have a major purpose in life, the poor have no purpose in life.
The rich do their own thinking, the poor have people to do their thinking for them.
The rich give something of value to people and society, the poor give nothing and blame others for their poverty.
The rich work, the poor sit and wait for the delusional “break” or “luck”.
The rich educate themselves on how to acquire riches, the poor get a “job” and think that’s the only way to acquire money.
The rich own and respect their own and other people’s time, the poor have other people controlling their time.
The rich use their finances intelligently, the poor say “money comes and goes” and waste it instead of thinking how to double it.
The rich believe that by being rich, they can help themselves live to the fullest and help people as well, the poor believe that to think about money is bad and selfish.
The rich are proactive, the poor are reactive.
The rich believe that to be rich is to work smart, the poor believe that to be rich is to work hard.
The rich have financial literacy, the poor are financially illiterate.
The rich have spent significant amount of time searching for the kind of work that they enjoy doing – while making money out of it, the poor spend the majority of their life being corporate slaves, showing up at those “jobs” which they hate most, believing that this is the only way to make money.
The rich believe in passive income, the poor believe in active income.
The rich believe in the power of personal potential, the poor believe that the rich are lucky.
NOTE: The above are not mentioned to discriminate or generalize, they are only mentioned to give you an idea about the mindset of these two groups and to help you in your financial journey. These secrets are summarized from books. Some of these books are Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill, Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki, Psycho Cybernetics by Maxwell Maltz.
You can also replace the word “rich” with “successful” and “poor” with “failures”, (in some sentences) the meaning does not change, give it a try!

How to become rich instantly, become rich now and achieve your heart’s desires.
What is it that is stopping me from becoming rich?
Its your mindset.
What do you mean by my mindset?
You aren’t rich because you think that you can not become rich.
That’s too simple to say.
Exactly! that’s why you are stuck in poverty.
What do you mean?
You see it’s so simple; that if you change your mindset – riches will be revealed to you. Henry Ford once said: If you think that you can do something you are right and if you think that you can not do something, you are also right!
Interesting, but this contradicts my belief system
Who told you that your belief system is right?
let me clear some false beliefs that are in your head.
1) If you think that the rich people are only those who have inherited their wealth, think again, Henry Ford started with nothing, Napoleon Hill used to be a labor in a coal mine, Oprah Winfrey (richest black woman alive) started from zero. So just clear the idea that only the rich can stay rich.
2) If you think that rich people are those who got lucky, also think again, now we do not want to go deep into the geometry of chance but think of it this way: life is like Algebra, how much you give is how much you get. In order to change one side of the equation you have to change the other side as well. There is no such thing as something for nothing. Ask yourself, how can I give something of value? it is when you give – you receive. In physics, every action has an equal and opposite reaction. Your habits, the way you treat yourself and others around you. A little smile that you give which makes others smile is a little contribution, so use your head my dear and ask your self how can I contribute something of value to others?
3) If you think that rich people are those who have acquired highest levels of education, I don’t know how many times am I going to say; THINK AGAIN, but here, I’ll say it again; THINK AGAIN. Henry Ford had very little schooling, if he was alive now he would have been the richest man alive! do you see how many cars are out there on the road, or let me say; in the world! it all started with his idea of manufacturing assembly lines. Did you know that Bill Gates was a college dropout? You don’t need to look far just look for successful people whom you personally know and ask them about their level of education, you will be surprised to find that not all of them had proper schooling.
So are you saying that education is not important?
God Forbid!!! Education is most important!
Then why are you saying that I don’t necessarily have to go to college?
My dear, it is the education that you acquire in your mind, not the education that you acquire on paper! that’s my point. There are tons of books out there in your local library or book store which you can use to study at home. There are millions of articles and free e-books on the internet that can help you acquire the knowledge that you need.
4) If you think that the rich people are those with some kind of special ability, think again. They don’t have extra brains, no extra ears, no extra eyes, no extra mouths and certainly no extra time. We all have an extremely powerful tool, that is our minds! and our most common denominator is our time. If someone steals one dollar from you, you can get one dollar and hundreds of dollars back but if someone steals one hour from you, you can never bring that hour back. Consider your time as your most valuable resource.
I didn’t know that time is that important.
How do you spend your time? do you do something productive or are you just drifting with the current of the norm or what other people tell you to do. Here is a beautiful quote that I would like to share with you, I copied it from a book called The One Minute Manager by Kenneth H. Blanchard; “If you don’t blow your own horn, someone else will use it as a spittoon. ” therefore use your time as YOU would like to use it.
You make it sound very simple, if it was that easy, then how come the majority of people out there are poor?
That’s because they are happy the way they are 🙂
WHAT? The poor are happy the way they are?
Exactly
C’mon??!
Open your eyes, look around you, you think that if the majority of people were not so happy and satisfied, would they act normal? now if you REEEEEEEEALLY wanted something would you be normal and not talk about it? or do something about it?
I’m not sure that I understand
For example; if you saw a car and you wanted it sooooo bad, you think about that car day and night, you want it so bad that you constantly dream about it, you keep looking it up on the internet or you keep going to the showroom just to see that car. Imagine that you sit outside the showroom at 4 am waiting for the place to open JUST to see the car. Can you imagine how intense your desire is while you’re sitting out there in the cold weather waiting for the staff to arrive to work and open the showroom?
Now that is a person with an intense desire to have something. So tell me, do you think that a person with such intense desire would sit and do nothing about it? He’ll definitely go out there and find a way to put his hands on that car.
What does that have to do with the poor people being happy and satisfied as they are?
That’s because they are not intensifying their desire of becoming rich, they do not have the willpower to say NO! to the things that will prevent them from achieving financial freedom.
THE POOR LACK THE DESIRE OF BECOMING RICH
You see, if the poor guy REEEAAALLLYY wanted to achieve financial abundance; he would definitely go out there and do something about it. He would read books on the subject, he would ASK those who are rich – the secrets of their wealth, HE WOULD NEVER GIVE UP, and he would be on a constant look out for answers to his questions.
But why would anybody not want to become rich?
Excellent question.
There are many reasons:
* He/She might think that they CAN NOT become wealthy (which is the whole point of my dialogue with you, YOU CAN!)
* He/She is extremely conditioned to think that he/she is not worthy of becoming rich.
* He/She is accustomed to think that money is an evil thing. (which is absolutely false, you can not help another soul if you lacked a minimum amount of wealth)
* He/She does not weigh the benefits of having financial abundance.
* (refer to the first four points in the beginning of the dialogue for more reasons)
Not all people out there find that financial freedom is the answer to their problems.
You are here because you are looking for an answer. Not all people want to know how to achieve financial freedom. Some of them might stop, look at their lives, feel bad about it and say to themselves ” hmmmppphhh, well I can’t do anything about it anyways” and that’s it! dismiss it! Do they ask themselves HOW can they achieve financial freedom? HOW can they get out of this mess? You asked yourself and you might have had a small idea in your head that told you “maybe it is possible? …. hmmmmm let me look for some answers”. That’s why you are here.
But why hasn’t anybody told me this before? that most of my beliefs are false?
Are you sure that you want to hear the cold truth?
That’s why I’m here, to know the truth.
The truth is my dear, all the people you know are poor.
WHAT?? No they are not! I have a lot of friends with fancy cars and big houses and lots of toys!
Don’t be fooled my dear! they all are poor!
You can’t be serious!
I’ll ask you a simple question. Imagine that you have a monthly income of 100,000$/month, are you rich?
Of course!
But what if your expenses are 99,000$/month, are you still rich? You have those fancy cars, fancy houses and all those toys. Are you still rich? If that income is cut off (say that you are working as a CEO) you will be flat broke again, you will have to sell all your belongings in order to put food on the table, and since you are used to the exhausting-money-spending habits, you will be broke sooner than you expected.
I never noticed that!
Well now you do.
Why are you pointing out this fact?
That’s because I want you to watch out for your environment. It is very essential in your financial success, if you want to know how the rich think and how the rich operate, you have to distinguish from those who are truly rich (have passive income) and those who “look” rich. (spend all of their monthly income and have nothing left for them at the end of the month, waiting desperately for their next paycheck to be issued)
Why would I need to know the difference?
So you don’t fall into the trap in which the majority of people – who live in poverty, have fallen into. The trap of false belief and bad advice. The sad news is that everyday you are getting financial advice from people who are – in reality – poor. Once you know how to distinguish the truly rich from the fake rich you can know whom to get advice from, or who to hang out with and learn from.
But what does that have to do with what you said about the majority of people who I know being poor?
Check this out:
Have you heard about the 80 20 rule?
TO BE CONTINUED…
You are a human with a free will my friend, you can sit your a** all day doing non productive things and justifying yourself and how its someone else’s fault that you are poor, or move your a** and do something about it.
